Mission Statement

We have been treating adults and children in the Tri-Valley for over 30 years. Although we place an emphasis on cosmetic, implant, and sedation dentistry for adults, we are basically an old-fashioned family practice. However, I think the thing that sets our practice apart has mostly to do with our philosophy of care.

Most dentists can probably do a fine job with their dentistry, as long as they care enough to make the effort. But what makes us special is the safety net that we provide for our patients. Safe is the operative word here. I fully understand there are a lot of people who don't particularly enjoy going to the dentist. There are many who don't go at all, for fear of what they might encounter when they get there. So, I feel it is my job to make sure these people feel safe enough to come in, and to feel good about the experience. That means they must feel safe in the dental chair of course, but it goes way beyond that. They must feel safe with the financial arrangements, so we offer several options for payment, including long-term payment plans for some.

My San Ramon dental patients must feel safe in the knowledge that they are receiving good advice in our dental recommendations. They must feel safe about the quality of care they are receiving, and they must feel safe with respect to our state-of-the-art infection control procedures. They also need to trust that they will never be judged regarding their current state of oral health. And finally, they must feel that they are in complete control of all the choices in their own treatment.

I feel very strongly that perhaps the most valuable service I have to offer, is what comes before we ever consider any treatment at all. Consequently, you will find our initial examination to be quite thorough. I will do a complete evaluation of your teeth, gums, and bite, perform a careful oral cancer screening, and I will consider all the cosmetic possibilities for improving your smile.

Then I will take as much time as necessary to discuss all my findings. I will tell you what I see, and how I think you got that way. We will discuss strategies for avoiding future problems, and I will discuss in detail, all the possible options for correcting any issues that you may have at present. I feel that it is our job to provide as much information as possible, but then we will leave it completely up to you to decide what services, if any, you wish us to provide. This is what feeling safe is all about. We emphasize patient comfort, and are always understanding with those who are particularly fearful.

My pledge as a San Ramon dentist is to always be as gentle as possible, as I truly care about the folks I serve. In addition, I make sure to surround myself with an outstanding staff.
